Judging - Panel of Judges
Judging - How Awards are Chosen Judging the Telecom Asia Awards The Telecom Asia Awards are the joint efforts of the Ovum Asia-Pacific telecommunications team, an independent judging panel and Telecom Asia readers and editors. Because of the vast size of the Asian market and the differences in the segments themselves, the judging varies slightly between segments. In the Mobile, Broadband, Emerging Market and India categories, the judges pass judgment on a shortlist drawn up by our research partner Ovum, based on a financial analysis. Candidates are scored for their financial performance, market leadership, and technology and innovation. For the Managed Services, Wholesale and Satellite categories, candidates self-nominate by submitting entry forms describing their financial, market and technology performance. For CEO of the Year and Technology, judges vote on a shortlist based on reader and editor nominations. This year Ovum has also assisted by judging winners on its own in two categories – Best Telecom Innovation and Best Telco Transformation. After the initial categories have been decided, judges then choose the "best of the best" from among the winners. Carriers are ranked on the earlier categories – financial, market, technology and innovation – and also CSR and corporate governance. The winner is Best Asian Telecom Carrier. |
